Temporary Restriction on Importation of Tomatoes
Wednesday 21, December 2016, Victoria Seychelles: The National Bio-security Agency-Plant Bio-security Services introduced a temporary restriction on importation of tomatoes.
Due to the presence and continuous outbreak of the insect pest Tuta absoluta, (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in the following countries listed below, the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) of Seychelles has put in place a temporary restriction on importation of fresh tomatoes.
The importation of tomatoes from these countries can be made possible if the respective and/or competent authority of exporting countries (Trading Partners) can prove that the commodity can be treated and certified free from Tuta absoluta.
Pytosanitary treatment used and/or agricultural practices adopted including the process must be communicated to the respective and/or competent authority (National Bio-security Agency) of Seychelles as the importing country for consideration during the process of pest risk analysis for phytosanitary measures.

ASIA: Bahrain, Bangladesh, Republic of Georgia, India, Karnataka, Mahatashtra, Tamil Nadu, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Nepal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.
AFRICA: Algeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Libya, Mayotte, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Spain Canary Island, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, South Africa.
CENTRAL AMERICA AND CARRIBEAN: Costa Rica, Panama,
